The best horses, jockeys and trainers come together at beautiful Belmont Park to compete in 10 amazing Grade 1 races during the 33-day Fall Championship meeting. A sampling of the Grade 1 lineup includes Gazelle, Ruffian, Matron, Flower Bowl, Beldame, Champagne, Vosburgh, Frizette and The Jockey Club Gold Cup. It will be a Saturday to remember as Belmont Park hosts the Breeders' Cup Challenge, featuring five graded stakes worth $2.4 million and overall more than $2.5 million in purses.

Get a glimpse of racing’s future superstars as the best two-year-olds in the nation compete in the Grade II Matron for fillies and the Grade II Futurity for the boys. The impact of these two races will be heard around the world when the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies is run six weeks later. Super Saturday continues with the Grade I Gazelle for 3-year-old fillies and the Grade III Noble Damsel Handicap for fillies and mares.

It will be a Saturday to remember as Beautiful Belmont Park hosts Breeders' Cup Challenge Day, featuring five graded stakes worth $2.4 million and overall more than $2.5 million in purses.

The highlight of the afternoon will be the running of the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup for 3-year-olds and up. Under the Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In" format, the winner of the Jockey Club Gold Cup will automatically qualify for a spot in the Breeders' Cup Classic - Powered by Dodge at the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Santa Anita on Saturday and Sunday- October 25 and 26.

In addition to the Jockey Club Gold Cup there are four other Breeders' Cup Challenge races on the September 27th program: the $600,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic for 3-year-olds and up on the turf for a position in the $3,000,000 Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Turf (Gr.I); the $400,000 Vosburgh Handicap for a position in the $2 million Sentient Breeders' Cup Sprint (Gr.I); the $600,000 Beldame Handicap for a position in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (Gr.I) and the $600,000 Flower Bowl Handicap for a position in the $2 million Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Turf.

Final preparations for the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships are underway as the best 2 year-olds match up in the $400,000 Champagne for colts and the $400,000 Frizette for fillies. This fantastic day also offers a superb turf event for 3-year-olds in the $300,000 Jamaica Breeders’ Cup.

Explore the grounds of beautiful Belmont Park and discover a world of excitement on your holiday. It’s the only Monday of the season when Belmont Park is open with post time at 1 p.m.

The $100,000, Pebbles is the main event for three-year-old fillies on the turf.

Reminder: Belmont Park will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 14th and 15th. Belmont will reopen for racing on Thursday, October 16th at 1pm.

New York Showcase Fall Festival

Breakfast at Belmont – Weekends in September

The Breakfast at Belmont program provides a behind the scenes look at the world of racing by gaining access to otherwise restricted areas of Belmont Park including a tram tour of Belmont’s remarkable stable area. A kids’ favorite, the starting gate demonstration gives children an up close and personal look at the starting gate. The Paddock Show with Ted Landers is a must see for racing fans and novices alike as he explains a horse’s daily routine and equipment.
