The DISTAFF BREEDERS’ CUP HANDICAP, as the name suggests, is restricted to fillies and mares. It is part of the BREEDERS’ CUP NATIONAL STAKES PROGRAM.

The DISTAFF Handicap was run at old Aqueduct in 1954 and 1955; at Belmont Park from 1956 to 1959. Run in two divisions in 1964. Run at six furlongs in 1977, 1978, 1979, 1984, and 1994. Not run in 1993 due to inclement weather.
