Wood Memorial Day

Five graded stakes races highlight the premiere day of the Aqueduct Spring Meet. The G1 Wood Memorial pits top Kentucky Derby prospects in their final prep before the first Saturday in May. Older sprinters are featured in the G1 Carter Handicap. Three-year-old sprinters get their turn in the G3 Bay Shore, won in 2012 by future Breeders' Cup and Eclipse Award winner Trinniberg. Fillies and mares highlight the G2 Ruffian with Kentucky Oaks hopefuls trying the G2 Gazelle.
