The BROADWAY was first run in 1980. It is named for the strip in New York City that is famous for its hit shows and musicals. In 1983, Aqueduct was the stage for the visiting cast of the hit Broadway musical “42nd Street.”
Run at six furlongs 1980-82 and 2003; one mile, 70 seventy yards 1983-93; one mile 1994-95; seven furlongs 1996-02 and 2004. Returned to six furlongs in 2005. Run in two divisions in 1999.
