Winning Move Stable’s Runway Rosie (116 pounds) figures to vie against Darley Stable’s Stage Luck (116), Dell Ridge Farm’s Wild Hoots (116) and Edward A. Seltzer’s Wow Me Free (116), while Elisabeth H. Alexander’s Cryptoquip (115) and J. Paul Reddam’s Peach Flambe (116) are questionable.

The 84th running of the Grade 1, $750,000 Wood Memorial, New York’s final traditional prep for the Kentucky Derby, will be run on Saturday, April 5. LaPenta’s War Pass, the juvenile champion of 2007 who baffled everyone with a last-place finish in the Tampa Bay Derby on March 15; IEAH Stable’s Court Vision, winner of the Remsen here as a two-year-old in November and third in the Fountain of Youth in his only 2008 try; and Charles E. Fipke’s Tale of Ekati, winner of Belmont Park’s Futurity last fall.

Also probable for the Wood Memorial are Albert Fried Jr.s’Giant Moon, Peachtree Stable’s Spurrier and Stonerside Stable’s Texas Wildcatter. Questionable are Mr. and Mrs. William K. Warren Jr.’s undefeated Denis of Cork, winner of the Grade 2 Southwest at Oaklawn Park in February, Puglisi Stable’s Roman Emperor and Cubanacan Stable’s Gayego, runner-up on the Grade 2 San Felipe at Santa Anita.

The Wood Memorial [race 9, 5:15 p.m.] will be shown live by NBC-TV during its one-hour telecast that begins at 5 p.m. Eastern.

“We are thrilled that we were able to work with NBC and get the Wood Memorial the national television exposure it deserves," said NYRA President and CEO Charles E. Hayward. “Not only is the Wood Memorial an important historic race, but it has become a key race in determining future Classic winners and champions.”

The Wood Memorial will be part of an all-stakes Pick 4 with a guaranteed pool of $400,000.

The Pick 4 will begin at 4:09 p.m. in race 7 with the 48th running of the Grade 3, $150,000 Bay Shore for three-year-olds at seven furlongs (Probables: Double Down Vinman, Gattopardo, Go Go Shoot, J Be K, Jockey Ridge, Laysh Laysh Laysh and Make the Point; Questionable: Magical Forest); followed by the 96th running of the Grade 3, $200,000 Excelsior Handicap for three-year-olds and up at nine furlongs [race 8, 4:42 pm] (Probables: Magna Graduate, Malibu Moonshine, Naughty New Yorker, Nite Light, Sightseeing and Wafi City; Questionable: Delosvientos, Explosive Heat, Temporary Saint); the Wood Memorial; and finally, the 108th running of the Grade 1, $300,000 Carter Handicap for three-year-olds and up at seven furlongs [race 10, 5:50 p.m.] (Probables: Bustin Stones, King of the Roxy, Lord Snowdon, Premium Wine and Spring at Last; Questionable: Forefathers and Sir Greeley).
