Belmont Park will host its first ever live-money tournament on Saturday, July 12, when track-goers will be able to experience the thrill of tournament play for a mere $40.
Of the $40 entry fee, $10 goes to the prize pool - with 70% to be awarded to the first-place finisher, 20% to second, and 10% to third - and the remaining $30 will comprise the entrant's bankroll. Participants must select five races from a 10-race card at Belmont - featuring the Grade 2, $200,000 Bowling Green Handicap - on which to place live $2 win, place, and show wagers, that must be placed on five different horses in five different races. Only Belmont races will be accepted for contest play.
Sign-up will be on the first floor of the grandstand on Saturday, July 12 only, and there is a guaranteed prize pool of $500.
