The SANDS POINT is named for the northernmost tip of the Cow Point Peninsula on Long Island’s North Shore. Sands Point is bordered almost entirely by water - Long Island Sound to the north, Manhasset Bay to the west and Hempstead Harbor on the east. In “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sands Point is referred to as “East Egg.”

There was a dead heat for the win in 2007.
