Welcome to the Stewards’ Corner, where you will find explanations of the decisions that our stewards make on race days. Directly following any decision they make having to do with the official order of finish, including inquiries and objections, the stewards – one appointed by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), one appointed by the New York State Gaming Commission, and one appointed by The Jockey Club (TJC) – provide an explanation of what happened and the reason for their decision. Race Decisions - September 10, 2011
RACE 4: Stewards inquiry and jockey objection from the rider of the 4th place horse # 4Chessrate (D. Cohen) for alleged interference in the vicinity of the ½ mile pole against the winner # 6 Aubby K ( C. Nakatani). After reviewing the video and in the judgment of the stewards, contact was made by the # 5 Spring Breeze (R. Curatolo) with # 4 Chessrate in the vicinity of the ½ mile pole. # 6 Aubby K was not involved. Therefore the race is official as is.
RACE 10: Steward’s inquiry into the start of race 10. The # 6 Rock Superstar (J Espinoza ) rears up when the gates open and gets off slowly. After reviewing the video the stewards declare the race official as is.
