TRAINER - Nick Zito

Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.

Birdstone won the two biggest races for 3- year-olds in New York in 2004 when he beat Smarty Jones in the Belmont Stakes (Gr. 1) at Belmont Park and won the Travers (Gr. 1) at Saratoga. He also won the Champagne
(Gr. 1) at Belmont Park in 2003.

Thirty Six Red helped establish Zito as a national presence in 1990 when he won the Wood Memorial, finished second in the Belmont Stakes and finished third in the 1990 Breeders' Cup Classic. Zito bought Thirty Six Red with B. Giles Brophy for $92,000 at the 1988 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Won the Kentucky Derby twice: Strike the Gold in 1991 and Go for Gin in 1994. He is one of only 17 trainers in history to saddle two or more Kentucky Derby winners.

Kentucky Derby winner Go for Gin finished second in both the Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes in 1994.

Won the Preakness Stakes with Louis Quatorze in 1996. The victory snapped the Triple Crown winning streak of trainer D. Wayne Lukas at six.

Won the 1996 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies with Storm Song. Zito earned his first Eclipse Award when Storm Song earned the 1996 Juvenile Fillies Eclipse Award.

Awarded the C.V. Whitney Award by the New York Turf Writers Association in 1994 and 2000. The award acknowledges special achievement in New York racing.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000 - Breeders' Cup Preview Day at Belmont Park - Zito was 2-3-2 from seven starts with victories in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup with Albert the Great and the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes with A P Valentine. He was second and third in the Grade 1 Frizette, third in the Grade 2 Forest Hills Handicap and second in two maiden-special- weight juvenile races.

Won three consecutive Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park: The Groom Is Red (1998), Greenwood Lake (1999) and A P Valentine (2000). He is one of four trainers to win the race the record three times.

Enjoyed a successful Breeders' Cup at Woodbine in 1996: Storm Song won and Love That Jazz was second in the Juvenile Fillies; Acceptable was second in the Juvenile; and Louis Quatorze was second in
the Classic.

JOCKEY - Edgar Prado

Edgar Prado is a native of Lima, Peru and hails from a racing family - his father is a trainer and two of his eight brothers are jockeys. He dominated the Maryland racing scene for years with multiple riding titles at both Laurel and Pimlico, but in the summer of 1999 decided to shift his tack to New York. He won 1,000 races over a two-year span in 1997-1998, to join Chris McCarron and Kent Desormeaux as the only riders to accomplish that feat and led the nation in wins with 536 in '97, 474 in '98, and 402 in '99. He was second nationally in earnings in 2005, when his mounts won over $18 million for the second consecutive year. He also won 299 race in 2005, finishing in seventh nationally while winning at a 20% clip. Prado won the Kentucky Oaks in 2003 on Bird Town and the Belmont twice: Birdstone (2004) and Sarava (2002). He has ridden in the past seven Derbies, culmunating with a win aboard Barbaro last year, which likely propelled him the Eclipse Award.

bidding stopped at $190,000 and fell short of the $200,000 reserve. (The loss in value is atributed to a cat that ran across the track andsignificantly slowed a workout.) The Cliff’s Edge - sold 50% to the Vinery where he is
standing since 2005 and his first foals are now 2006 yearlings.

Andromeda’s Hero – captured the 2005 Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs and finished second in the Belmont Stakes. He was eighth in the Kentucky Derby.
