On-Track Handle And Attendance Increase On Jockey Club Gold Cup Day

On a picturesque day at Belmont Park that saw Flat Out, Havre de Grace, Uncle Mo, Giant Ryan, Cape Blanco, and Stacelita win prestigious graded stakes races, on-track handle and attendance surpassed last year’s numbers.

This year’s attendance of 10,481 outpaced last year’s attendance of 9,671 by 8 percent. On-track handle was $2,647,323, up 23 percent from last year’s on-track total of $2,153,130.

An additional $288,033 was wagered at Aqueduct Racetrack, which had a simulcast crowd of 3,082.

All-sources handle was $16,666,393, down 8.4 percent from last year’s all-sources handle of $18,191,318.
