RACE 2, TWO-YEAR-OLD FILLIES, 6 FURLONGS, DIRT, 12:05 P.M.

 

FIVE MACH SPEED (2yo bay filly), by E Dubai and out of the stakes-winning mare Chatta Code, is a full-sister to Desert Code, who in 2008 won the inaugural Breeders’ Cup Turf. In addition, Desert Code won two Grade 3 turf sprints and was also a Grade 3 winner going long on the main track. Five Mach Speed, a $360,000 Keeneland September yearling, is also a half-sister to three horses with black type, including stakes winners Soul Onarazorsedge and Forest Code.

MISSYOULIKECRAZY (2yo chestnut filly), a $270,000 Keeneland November weanling, is a full-sister to Pretty Prolific, who is entered in the Grade 1 Ballerina later on the card. Pretty Prolific won the Grade 3 Sugar Swirl in January, was third in the Grade 1 Humana Distaff in May, and has earned $326,384 to date. Their dam, Seattle Way, is out of Waya, an import from France who was named the United States’ Champion Older Female Horse for 1979.

FILM MAKING (2yo dark bay or brown colt) is the first foal out of Film Maker, who won the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, twice placed in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, and earned $2.2 million. By Storm Cat, Film Making races for her breeder, Donald Adam of Courtlandt Farm, who also campaigned Film Maker.

GOLD TRADER (2yo dark bay or brown colt) is out of Educated Risk, winner of the Grade 1 Frizette and Grade 1 Top Flight Handicap and a half-sister to Champion Older Female Horse and Hall of Fame inductee Inside Information. Educated Risk has produced two black type winners to date, overnight stakes winner Strategy and listed stakes winner Consequence. Gold Trader is a Phipps homebred by Johannesburg.

UNCLE MO (2yo bay colt), a $220,000 Keeneland September yearling, is out of Playa Maya, who placed in two minor stakes during her racing career. By Indian Charlie, Uncle Mo has twice worked in company with August 14 maiden winner Stay Thirsty. The tandem breezed five furlongs on the Oklahoma Training Track in 1:00 on July 4 and four furlongs on the main track in 51 2/5 on August 8.

DUCA (2yo bay colt) is the first foal out of Tempus Fugit, who won three stakes and placed in a Grade 3 Gardenia Handicap. By Empire Maker, Duca was acquired for $375,000 at Fasig-Tipton’s Saratoga Selected Yearlings sale.
