OWNER
Stonestreet Stables/Harold McCormick

Stonestreet Stable is the nom de course of Jess Jackson’s Stonestreet Farm, located in Lexington, Ky. Jackson, a successful San Francisco attorney, expanded into ventures such as real estate and computer programming and leasing. The Kendall-Jackson winery was begun after Jackson and his family bought an 80-acre pear and walnut orchard in Lakeport, Calif. that soon was transformed into a vineyard. The first bottle of Kendall-Jackson appeared in 1982.

McCormick, who lives in Birmingham, Ala., is a friend of Jackson’s.

TRAINER
Steve Asmussen

Steve Asmussen has been among the nation's leading trainers the past several years, and in 2008 he saddled a record 622 winners and earned his first Eclipse Award. Of course, the 43-year-old son of two trainers, Keith and Marilyn Asmussen, also had two-time Horse of the Year Curlin in his barn. Asmussen won his first Triple Crown race in 2007 when Curlin took the Preakness and then won the Breeders' Cup Classic. Curlin also won the Dubai World Cup in 2008. As the new trainer of Rachel Alexandra, Asmussen won another Preakness when Rachel became the first filly in 85 years to take the second leg of the Triple Crown. Asmussen, whose brother Cash was a champion rider in Europe and then a trainer, has more than 4,000 winners in his career and currently has about 200 horses in training with divisions in New York, Chicago, Kentucky, Louisiana and Texas. Among the South Dakota native's other top horses were Grade 1 winners Lady Tak and Summerly.

JOCKEY

Calvin Borel

A native of St. Martin Parish, La., Borel became a two-time Kentucky Derby winner when he guided Mine That Bird up the rail to victory on May 2. Previously, he took the inside path – hence his nickname “Bo-Rail” -- to earn his first Derby victory with Street Sense in 2007. That year, he gained a huge fan following at Saratoga Race Course, riding Grade 1 winners Street Sense (Travers, Jim Dandy), Grand Couturier (Sword Dancer Invitational) and Lady Joanne (Alabama) and never failing to sign an autograph or pose for a photo.
