Forbes’ Firsters is a series that takes a glance at the pedigrees and sales histories of select 2-year-olds who are making their debuts in maiden special weight races at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park, or Saratoga Race Course. TONY B (chestnut colt, Old Fashioned—Teruko, by Coronado’s Quest) is out of a mare who has produced two winners from two starters, including Safe Trip, who has won stakes at Sunland Park and Zia Park and was second in the Grade 3 Jersey Shore at Monmouth Park. Teruko is a winning half-sister to Grade 3 Honorable Miss heroine Willa On the Move and listed stakes winner Grecian Maiden.

DIVINE ENERGY (gray/roan colt, Tapit—Pure Symmetry, by Storm Cat) is out of a placed daughter of Hall of Famer Serena’s Song, who won 12 Grade 1 races between the ages of 2 and 4, including the Haskell Invitational Handicap against males. As a broodmare, Serena’s Song produced stakes winners Sophisticate (Group 1), Grand Reward (Grade 2), Harlington (Grade 2), Schramsberg (Grade 3), and Serena’s Tune. Pure Symmetry has produced two winners from as many starters.
