The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) and the NBC Sports Group are partnering for a third consecutive year to present the “Summer at Saratoga” series, with seven live broadcasts from Saratoga Race Course, starting on Saturday, July 27th and concluding on Saturday August 31st.

The broadcasts will feature live coverage of some of the premier races of the Saratoga season, including the Grade 1, $750,000 Whitney Invitational Handicap on August 3 and the Grade 1, $600,000 Alabama Stakes on August 17. There will be eight hours of live coverage over seven weekends, including the telecast of the Grade 1, $1 million Travers Stakes, affectionately known as “The Mid-Summer Derby,” on August 24. Fans can look forward to a potential Travers showdown among Palace Malice, the winner of the 145th Belmont Stakes, Kentucky Derby winner Orb and Preakness Stakes victor Oxbow.

Saratoga Race Course was named one of the world’s top 10 sporting venues of the 20th century by Sports Illustrated and is the premier thoroughbred racing meet in the United States with nearly 1 million visitors in 2012.

The schedule for the NBC’s live coverage of the 2013 Saratoga meet is as follows (All Times ET):

NBC SPORTS AND HORSE RACING: For the third straight year, NBC Sports Group is home to the Triple Crown, presenting more than 25 hours of on-air coverage and live streaming from Churchill Downs, Pimlico and Belmont on both NBC and NBC Sports Network. Steeped in tradition and in anticipation of a title that hasn't been won since 1978, NBC’s exclusive broadcast offered unparalleled coverage of each race in addition to pre and post-race reporting and analysis. With rights to The Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes and Breeders' Cup through 2015, NBC will continue to bring horse racing's premiere events to viewers for years to come.
