The seven-furlong race for 3-year-olds was first run in 1984 and is named for Craig F. Cullinan, Jr.'s colt of the same name. Purchased as a yearling in 1971 for $72,000 at the Keeneland summer sales, the son of Round Table won 11 of 28 starts including the Fall Highweight and the Carter as a 4-year-old. The King’s Bishop was not run in 1986.
