To celebrate the start of the 142nd season at Saratoga Race Course, The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will offer free grandstand admission to patrons on Opening Day, Friday, July 23. “As a thank you to our terrific customers, we wanted to offer them free grandstand admission for opening day,” said NYRA President and CEO Charles Hayward. “This will be a great way to start the Saratoga meet, which promises to be one of the best yet.” NYRA will also offer reduced Clubhouse admission of just $2 on Opening Day. With four additional days added to the schedule, the newly expanded meet will offer 40 days of thoroughbred racing every day except Tuesday through Labor Day, September 6. First race post time is 1 p.m. on Opening Day, which features the 92nd running of the Grade 2, $100,000 Schuylerville for 2-year-old fillies. The Schuylerville is the first of 35 graded stakes on the Spa calendar, the centerpiece of which is the 141st running of the Grade 1, $1 million Travers for 3-year-olds on Saturday, August 28.
