TOBA To Offer Clinic And Seminar In Saratoga Springs | ||||

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) announced today that it will conduct a Pedigree and Conformation Clinic on Monday, August 8 and a Thoroughbred Ownership Seminaron Thursday, August 11 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The Pedigree and Conformation Clinic, sponsored by Blood-Horse Publications, will feature conformation presentations and live evaluations as well as pedigree discussions that will include nicking, linebreeding, outcrossing and inbreeding. Clinic speakers include Suzi Shoemaker, Al Stall, Brian Graves, Dr. Scott Pierce, Bob Feld and Dan Hall. The clinic will begin at 8 a.m. at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion. The registration fee for the clinic is $93.75 for TOBA members and $175 for non-members and includes all support materials, breakfast and lunch. The TOBA member rate reflects a significantly discounted rate in honor of the 50th anniversary of the organization. Throughout 2011 TOBA will extend discounted rates on seminars and clinics to its members. The Thoroughbred Ownership Seminar, also sponsored by Blood-Horse Publications, will feature discussions on industry business issues, options for acquiring horses including partnerships, auctions and claiming as well as a discussion about veterinary topics. Speakers include Jeff Cannizzo, John Hess, Roger Locks, Jeff Schwartz, John Fort, Mike Ryan, Eric Friedman, Sasha Sanan of Padua Stables, Thoroughbred trainer Ian Wilkes, Wezo Pierson of the Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program and Dr. Michael Hore. The seminar will begin at 8 a.m. at Saratoga Race Course and will include breakfast, lunch and an afternoon of racing. The registration fee for the Ownership Seminar is $56.25 for TOBA members and $100 for non-members and includes all support materials, admission to the track and meals.
