The Cigar Mile Day edition of America's Day at the Races will provide live coverage and analysis of the Grade 2, $250,000 Demoiselle, the Grade 2, $250,000 Remsen and the Grade 1, $750,000 Cigar Mile. Saturday's telecast from Aqueduct Racetrack will be carried nationally on FS2 from 3-4:30 p.m. Eastern with regional coverage on MSG Networks (MSG+).
In the Cigar Mile, the main event on the 10-race card, multiple Grade 1-winner Maximum Security and Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile victor Spun to Run headline a talented field of 11 seeking the final Grade 1 opportunity of the year in New York.
Carded as Race 10 with a local post time of 4:16 p.m. Eastern, the Cigar Mile will anchor a mandatory payout in the Empire 6.
A field of nine juveniles will hope to garner qualifying points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby in the 106th edition of Saturday's Remsen which is the first of five local preps for the "Run for the Roses". Offering 10-4-2-1 points towards the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby on May 2, the Remsen is also the only graded stakes event on the North American stakes calendar for 2-year-old colts going 1 1/8 miles.
The Remsen is carded as Race 9 on Saturday with a local post time of 3:43 Eastern.
The Demoiselle, featuring a full field of 12 runners, will see Maedean make her graded stakes debut following an impressive 5 ½ length victory in the $150,000 Tempted on November 1 at Aqueduct. One of four graded stakes on Saturday at Aqueduct, the Demoiselle offers 10-4-2-1 qualifying points towards the Kentucky Oaks to the top-four finishers.
The Demoiselle is carded as Race 8 with a local post time of 3:13 p.m.
Saturday's America's Day at the Races will be hosted by Greg Wolf alongside a broadcast team to include NYRA handicapper and analysts Andy Serling, Maggie Wolfendale, and retired Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. John Imbriale will provide live race calls throughout the day at the Big A.
The lucrative Cigar Mile Day card will also include the Grade 3, $250,000 Go For Wand as well the $150,000 Winter Memories and the $125,000 Autumn Days.
