'Aqueduct Challenge' handicapping tournament returns November 18

by Najja Thompson

The Aqueduct Challenge handicapping tournament presented by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will be held on Saturday, November 18 at Aqueduct Racetrack.

A live-money tournament with a $500 entry fee, of which $250 will be allocated to the prize pool and $250 for each player's live bankroll, will offer contestants the opportunity to place Win, Place, Show, Trifecta, Exacta, or Quinella wagers on a minimum of five races at Aqueduct and no more than five total races combined from either Gulfstream Park West or Churchill Downs.

Held in the third floor Manhattan Terrace, the tournament has a guaranteed first-place prize of $5,000. Horseplayers will also have the opportunity to qualify for two seats to the National Handicapping Championships held in Las Vegas in February. One seat, including entry fees to the 2018 Belmont Stakes Challenge in June at Belmont Park, will also be offered, if there is a minimum of 126 entries.

Online registration for the Aqueduct Challenge is now available and will close on Thursday, November 16, at which time full payment for registration is required. There will be no day-of registration.
