Aided by a bevy of longshots, the Pick 6 went unsolved resulting in a $29,905.02 carryover into Sunday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack.
Saturday’s Pick 6 sequence commenced with New York-bred Pennys From Heaven winning her debut in Race 4, returning $14 on a $2 win bet. Jump for Joy, a Silver member of the New York Racing Association’s Starter Loyalty Program, then won for the second time in four starts in Race 5, paying $9.40.
Thinkingofglenn, off at 37-1, was the day’s highest-priced winner, returning $76.50 for his maiden-breaking win in Race 6 for trainer Richard Metivier. Pinchbeck kept the bombs coming in the next race with a late surge to win a photo finish, paying $36.80 for the Kiaran McLaughlin trainee.
Royal Albert Hall ($8.80) captured the 1 5/16-mile $100,000 Bernardini in the day’s feature in Race 8, while Its All Relevant, a Silver member of the NYRA Starter Loyalty program, was the card’s only favorite to win, returning $4.40 in the finale.
A consolation payout of $116 was awarded to bettors who had four of six winners in the Pick 6.
Live racing resumes Sunday with an 8-race card. First post time is at 12:50 p.m. with the Pick 6 beginning in Race 3 with a 1:55 p.m. post time.
