Sunday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a double Pick 6 carryover of $103,065 after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive day during Saturday’s 11-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $5,190.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence began in Race 6 with Surface to Air [No. 7, $23.20] taking a nine-furlong starter allowance with Jose Gomez aboard for trainer Panagiotis Synnefias. Race 7 saw the favored Khafre [No. 5, $6.60*] with Dylan Davis in the irons capture a one-turn mile claimer for conditioner Ray Handal.
Race 8 featured New York-bred Ruse [No. 2, $12] rule victorious in a one-mile turf allowance with Romero Maragh aboard for trainer Timothy Hills. Leave No Trace [No. 5, $19.60] was impressive under Jose Lezcano to take the featured 6 1/2-furlong Grade 3 Vagrancy for conditioner Phil Serpe in Race 9.
Weekend Rags [No. 11, $12.60] closed well with Trevor McCarthy in the irons for trainer Jorge Abreu in Race 10, a six-furlong turf sprint versus state-bred allowance company.
With 7-of-8 horses left uncovered in the final leg [Race 11], the Chad Brown-trained and Eric Cancel-piloted Chantilly Road, [No. 5, $10.20] triggered the carryover after taking the 1 1/16-mile turf maiden special weight.
Sunday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 4 at 2:35 p.m. Eastern. First post on the nine-race card that features the Listed $150,000 Paradise Creek [Race 8] is 1:05 p.m.
