Saturday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a double Pick 6 carryover of $69,914 after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive day on Friday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $453.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence began in Race 3 with Midnight Concerto [No. 1, $8.50] graduating in a one-mile state-bred maiden with a well-timed ride from Maddy Olver for trainer Kenny McPeek. In Race 4, Alternate Reality [No. 4, $28.40] upset a one-mile claiming tilt with Trevor McCarthy up for trainer Chris Englehart, one race before Jose Gomez piloted Harlan’s Bond [No. 7, $8.80] to score a 6 1/2-furlong state-bred allowance victory in Race 5 for trainer David Donk.
In Race 6, Chuck Willis [No. 5, $9.10] posted a pacesetting score under Lane Luzzi in a six-furlong claimer for conditioner Wayne Potts before the Charlie Baker-trained Twenty Four Mamba [No. 5, $10] took the featured Race 7, a 6 1/2-furlong optional claiming sprint, with Dylan Davis in the irons.
With just two horses covered in the final leg, Ruben Silvera guided Rungius [No. 1A, $8.60] to capture Race 8, a nine-furlong starter allowance, for trainer Bruce Levine and triggered the carryover.
Saturday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 4 at 1:48 p.m. Eastern and features the $100,000 Busanda in Race 6. First post on the nine-race card is 12:20 p.m.
