Fans can watch and wager on Saturday's Group 1, $10 million Dubai World Cup and action packed stakes undercard from Meydan Racecourse at Aqueduct Racetrack, the Belmont Café simulcast center and via NYRA Bets.
Aqueduct and Belmont will have a special opening admission time of 10 a.m., offering wagering on the World Cup card at Meydan Race Course. Wagering on the full card will also be available online beginning on Saturday at NYRABets.com.
The first thoroughbred race on the World Cup card is the Group 2 Godolphin Mile, which has a scheduled post time of 7:45 a.m. EDT. The Dubai World Cup, featuring reigning North American Horse of the Year Arrogate, a three-time Grade 1 stakes winner, who broke the track record at historic Saratoga Race Course in the 147th running of the Travers in his stakes debut, is expected to top the field. The World Cup is scheduled to go off at 12:45 p.m.
The betting menu for Meydan's races will include the following: Win, Place, Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta, Daily Double, Pick 3, and Pick 6 wagering. Trifectas have a fifty-cent minimum and superfectas have ten-cent minimum. All other wagers have a $1 minimum.
NYRA Bets customers who place a minimum $20 Win wager on the Dubai World Cup have the opportunity to get back their $20 if their horse finishes second with the Second Chance Cash Back promotion. In addition, NYRA Bets members can earn ten points for every dollar bet during the Dubai World Cup card. For more information on these promotions visit NYRABets.com.
In addition to the Dubai World Cup simulcast program, live racing at Aqueduct will get underway with a live nine-race program, highlighted by the 25th running of the $100,000 Cicada, with a first post of 1:20 p.m. The Cicada, for 3-year-old fillies at six furlongs and the final stakes race of the 2016-2017 inner track winter meet, is expected to feature a competitive showdown between Franklin Square winner Wilburnmoney, stakes-placed Tiz Rae Anna and Bluegrass Flag, as well as the undefeated Sounds Delicious in her stakes debut, and Busher fifth-place finisher Heavenly Score.
Live racing will continue on Sunday, closing day on the inner track, and will move to the main track on Friday, March 31 for the 2017 Aqueduct spring meet.
