The Pick 6 eluded bettors for the fourth straight day Thursday at Aqueduct Racetrack, triggering a $837,570 four-day carryover into Friday's live racing program.
With a final net pool of $1.07 million, Thursday's Pick 6 offered few early surprises as logically-priced winners Gorgeous Charli (Race 3, No. 3, $15.20), Can't Do It Sally (Race 4, No. 2, $12.20), About That Base (Race 5, No. 4, $3.80), and Sabrina Ballerina (Race 6, No. 2, $8) led the day's sequence.
The outlook changed significantly, however, in Race 7 as Aaron Gryder piloted the Michael Divitto, Sr.-owned and -trained Riff Raff (No. 7, $143.50) to victory as the longest shot on the board at 70-1 odds.
Ten-pound apprentice jockey Joey Martinez followed up in Race 8 with a notable win of his own, scoring his first career victory aboard Playthatfunnymusic (No. 5, $40) to close out the day's sequence.
A consolation payout of $4,520 was awarded to bettors who had five of six winners.
Friday's Pick 6 will feature the first four-day carryover at a NYRA track since Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Belmont Park, when a $609,596 carryover swelled to more than $2 million in the final pool.
The Pick 6 will begin with Race 3 on Friday's eight-race card, which has a scheduled post time of 1:18 p.m. ET.
First post is at 12:20 p.m. Gates at Aqueduct and Belmont Café open at 11 a.m.
Wagering on the Pick 6 is available through NYRA Bets, on-track, and Belmont Café, as well as simulcast facilities across the country.
