Live racing scheduled to return to Aqueduct on Thursday, January 11
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has canceled live racing on Thursday, January 4, Friday, January 5, Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7 at Aqueduct Racetrack, due to a winter storm followed by three days of extremely cold temperatures and dangerously low wind chill values forecast to impact the New York City metropolitan through Sunday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning until 1 A.M. Friday, January 5, and is forecasting winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour with snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Friday, January 5, Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7 with current forecasts calling for dangerously low wind chill values to continue impacting the New York metropolitan area through the end of the week.
Due to the severity of the winter weather, training at both Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack will be closed through Saturday, January 6
Aqueduct Racetrack will remain open for simulcasting through Sunday, January 7. Online wagering is also available at NYRABets.com. Belmont Café will be closed and will reopen for simulcasting operations on Thursday, January 11.
Live racing is currently scheduled to resume at Aqueduct on Thursday, January 11.
