NYRA Bets to offer 10 percent winner's bonus for Wood Memorial Handicapping Challenge

by NYRA Press Office

The New York Racing Association, Inc. is offering a NYRA Bets 10 Percent Challenge Bonus as part of the Wood Memorial Handicapping Challenge on Saturday, April 7 at Aqueduct Racetrack.

The live-money tournament at the Big A will feature a $500 entry fee, of which $250 will go to the prize pool and $250 will serve as the player's live bankroll with win, place, show, exacta, trifecta, quinella and Daily Double wagering only. Contestants may wager on races at Aqueduct and Keeneland, but must wager on a minimum of five races at the Big A and no more than five races at Keeneland during the contest. The live race day at Aqueduct will feature five graded stakes, highlighted by the 94th running of the Grade 2, $750,000 Wood Memorial.

In addition to prize money, horseplayers will compete for one seat, including entry fees, to the 2018 Belmont Stakes Challenge in June and two seats to the 2019 National Handicapping Championship held in Las Vegas.

The Wood Memorial Handicapping Challenge will offer an additional 10 percent winner's bonus for the first-through-third-place finishers to active NYRA Bets Members.  With an estimated first place prize of $10,780 (200 entries) should the winner of the Wood Memorial Challenge be an active NYRA Bets member, they would receive an additional $1,078 for a total cash prize of $11,858.

The bonus will be provided to the winner's NYRA Bets account after the contest has concluded, standings are made official and the contestant has been verified to meet the promotion's qualifications.
