by NYRA Press Office

Horseplayers will be greeted by a Pick 6 carryover of $17,942 on Thursday at Aqueduct Racetrack after Sunday’s sequence went unsolved as many favorites failed to deliver on a sloppy sealed track.

Sunday’s Pick 6 started with The Cake Is a Lie (No. 5, $4.90) in Race 3, one of two favorites to hit the wire first in the sequence. In Race 4, True Timber (No. 3, $7.60) took the honors, followed by Quanique (No. 6, $17.40) in Race 5, and Save the Sangria (No. 2, $22.20) in Race 6.  In an exciting stretch run, Battle Station (No. 1, $8.20) held on to win the $100,000 Rego Park for New York Breds in Race 7. In the finale, post-time favorite Conquest Twister (No. 2, $4.70) romped home for the win.

The consolation payout for five out of six winners was $655.

Live racing is scheduled to resume Thursday with a post time of 12:50 p.m. The Pick 6 sequence starts with Race 3 at approximately 1:51 p.m.

Wagering on the Pick 6 is available through NYRA Bets, on-track, and at simulcast facilities across the country.
