Saturday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $22,486 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $2,498 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence began in Race 3 with the Ricardo Legall-trained My Girl Jal [No. 7, $20.80] taking a six-furlong claiming sprint under Elijah Greenidge. The Ruben Silvera-piloted Meraviglioso [No. 7, $8.90] followed in Race 4 with a six-furlong sprint victory for trainer James Ferraro.
Race 5 saw graded stakes-winner Stolen Base [No. 4, $18.20] return to the winner’s circle under Isaac Castillo in a 6 1/2-furlong optional claiming sprint for conditioner Bruce Levine. Datesfreedom [No. 5, $42.40] followed with the biggest upset of the sequence in Race 6 to take a nine-furlong claiming route with Jose Gomez up for trainer Edward DeLauro.
The featured Race 7, a one-mile optional claimer, was captured by post-time favorite Law Professor [No. 6, $4.40*] with an off-the-pace rally under Kendrick Carmouche for conditioner Rob Atras.
With the carryover already ensured, the Jorge Abreu-trained Li’l Lang [No. 6, $3.80*] came home victorious under Lane Luzzi in Race 8, a six-furlong state-bred maiden claiming tilt.
Saturday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 4 at 2:44 p.m. Eastern and features the $100,000 Haynesfield in Race 8. First post on the nine-race card is 1:20 p.m.
