Friday’s nine-race card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $24,322 after the sequence went unsolved on Thursday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $1,158 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence kicked off in Race 3 with the Randi Persaud-trained Breadman [No. 5, $7.60] taking a $25,000 claiming event under Hall of Famer Javier Castellano in off-the-pace fashion. Royal Poppy [No. 6, $6.20*]followed with a strong six-length maiden score under Dylan Davis for trainer Ray Handal in Race 4.
Race 5 saw Awesome Native [No. 8, $6.30] post a promising debut win for conditioner Jorge Abreu under Manny Franco in rallying fashion, one race before Franco earned a riding double with a $40,000 claiming victory aboard Lastchanceatglory [No. 5, $7.20] for trainer Rob Atras in Race 6.
The sequence closed out with two upset scores as the Mitchell Friedman-trained Caramocha [No. 8, $21.80] took the day’s featured state-bred allowance with Dylan Davis up in Race 7. With only the entry of Systemic Change and Opportunity Set covered in the final leg, Celestial Moon [No. 8, $26.40] triggered the carryover with an open-lengths victory under Junior Alvarado for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott in Race 8.
Friday’s Pick 6 sequence kicks off in Race 4. First post is 12:20 p.m. Eastern.
