Sunday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will feature a Pick 6 carryover of $29,483 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $1,091.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Saturday’s sequence kicked off in Race 4 as the Rick Dutrow, Jr.-trained Lucency [No. 6, $4.40*] prevailed as the favorite in the one-turn mile maiden for older horses. Rob the Bank [No. 4, $9.40] stole Race 5 on the front end with Kendrick Carmouche engineering the ride in the state-bred maiden claimer for trainer Bruce Brown.
The Mertkan Kantarmaci-trained Messi the Magician [No. 3, $23.40] went gate-to-wire under NYRA’s 2023 leading rider Manny Franco to take Race 6, a 6 1/2-furlong maiden sprint for older state-breds.
Graded stakes-winner Joey Freshwater [No. 6, $14.20] returned off the layoff to win a seven-furlong allowance optional-claiming sprint for older horses in Race 7 for Carmouche and trainer Linda Rice.
Godolphin’s Kentucky homebred Comparative [No. 5, $6.20*], trained by Brad Cox, captured the $150,000 Ladies in Race 8, battling back under Franco to win the nine-furlong route for older fillies and mares.
With only three horses uncovered in the Race 9 finale, Can’t Beat Me [No. 8, $57] lived up to his name to take the six-furlong claiming sprint for older horses with Romero Maragh in the irons for owner-trainer Paul Barrow.
Sunday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 4 at 1:48 p.m. Eastern. First post on the nine-race card is 12:20 p.m.
