Thursday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will feature a Pick 6 carryover of $42,323 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Saturday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $258 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Saturday’s sequence kicked off in Race 4 as Heard On Thestreet [No. 4, $13.20] scored under Isaac Castillo in a maiden claiming tilt as the second winner on the card for owner-trainer David Jacobson.
Jacobson and Castillo teamed up to take the next two races, scoring in Race 5 with Colonel Vargo [No. 3, $7.20], who bested the favored Printrack in a six-furlong starter allowance, and again with Sittin On Go [No. 5, $9.40], who made every pole a winning one in an 11-furlong starter allowance.
The Jamie Ness-trained and Mychel Sanchez-piloted Mystic Seaport [No. 7, $4.20*] was an emphatic winner of a seven-furlong starter allowance in Race 7, one race before Jacobson secured his fifth winner on the card with Laughing Boy [No. 1, $111], who was elevated to victory via disqualification in the Listed $150,000 Excelsior in Race 8.
With only two horses covered in the Race 9 finale, Ness and Sanchez combined for their second win of the day to trigger the carryover with Margin of Air [No. 8, $8.20] in a one-mile starter allowance.
Thursday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 3 at 2:23 p.m. Eastern. First post on the eight-race card to kick off the Aqueduct spring meet is 1:20 p.m.
