NYRA announces changes to racing calendar for upcoming meets at Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack

The New York Racing Association today announced changes to the racing calendar for Belmont Park's 2014 Fall Championship Meet and the fall/winter meet at Aqueduct Racetrack.

The Belmont fall meet will now begin one day earlier, on Friday, September 5. It will run through Sunday, October 26, for a total of 38 days.

Aqueduct's fall/winter meet will begin two days earlier, on Wednesday, October 29. In addition, Aqueduct will be open for live racing on Monday, November 10, and Monday, December 15.

There will be no live racing at the Big A from Tuesday, December 16, through Christmas Day, December 25. Aqueduct will reopen for live racing on Friday, December 26.

The changes were approved Friday by the New York State Gaming Commission.
