The Stewards' Corner

Welcome to the Stewards’ Corner, where you will find explanations of the decisions that our stewards make on race days. Directly following any decision they make having to do with the official order of finish, including inquiries and objections, the stewards – one appointed by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), one appointed by the New York State Gaming Commission, and one appointed by The Jockey Club (TJC) – provide an explanation of what happened and the reason for their decision. Race Decisions - February 26, 2012

RACE 1: Stewards inquiry and jockeys objection form the # 2 War Hitch (E. Castro) who finished 3rd against the winner # 3 Cool Component (S. Camacho Jr.) for alleged interference inside the 1/16 pole. The # 3 drifts in as passing # 2 on the rail and in the judgment of the stewards this action didn’t alter the final placing. The race is official as is
