The Stewards' Corner

Welcome to the Stewards’ Corner, where you will find explanations of the decisions that our stewards make on race days. Directly following any decision they make having to do with the official order of finish, including inquiries and objections, the stewards – one appointed by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), one appointed by the New York State Gaming Commission, and one appointed by The Jockey Club (TJC) – provide an explanation of what happened and the reason for their decision. Race Decisions - April 18, 2013


Race 7: Stewards inquiry into the running of the 7th race. Around the 3/8th pole the # 1 Sally’s Dream (R Silvera) on the rail brushes with the # 4 Strategic Missile (G Rodriguez), the rider of the # 1 looses his balance and has to steady whole losing his irons. After reviewing the video the stewards determine that the incident did not alter the finish and the race is official as is.
