The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has launched a Roku
channel that allows NYRA Rewards
customers to watch a live high definition stream of the races at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park, and Saratoga Race Course.
Roku is a product that connects to a TV and streams a variety of content directly from the internet. While Roku offers more than 1,000 channels, the NYRA HD Beta channel is the first dedicated to thoroughbred racing.
"We are always looking for new and innovative ways to widen the distribution of our racing product," said NYRA CEO and President Chris Kay. "Roku is an exciting platform and our new channel will allow NYRA Rewards customers to watch our races in high definition from the comfort of their own homes.
On Saturday, April 5, there will be an informational Roku display on the first floor at Aqueduct where NYRA Rewards members can enter to win one of 20 Rokus that will be given away that day.
NYRA Rewards members can access instructions on how to download the NYRA HD Beta channel on their Roku systems by going to their NYRA Rewards account and selecting the Roku option under the My Account menu.
Roku viewers can choose to listen to NYRA races in either English or Spanish by using the "Audio Settings" menu option.
