HIS FREEDOM REIGNS (bay colt, Grand Slam—Saoirse, by Cure the Blues) is a half-brother to Hide and Chic, a sprinter who won the Grade 3 Royal North on the turf and the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes over the all-weather, and on the dirt won a minor stakes at Calder Race Course and was second in the Grade 1 Test; and Autobahn Girl, who won two stakes at the Fair Grounds (one on the dirt and one on the turf) and a single stakes at Tampa Bay Downs (dirt). His Freedom Rings also is a half-brother to two-time stakes-placed Saoirse Cat and Seasoned Warrior, third in the Grade 2 Matron. Their dam was a sprinter who won four stakes, including the Grade 3 Chicago Breeders’ Cup Handicap.

All three foals out of Somerset West to race have won on the turf. Somerset West herself captured two races on the grass and is a full-sister to two-time graded-placed turfer De Aar and a half-sister to eight additional black-type earners, including Cetewayo (winner of the Grade 1 Sword Dancer Invitational and Grade 1 Gulfstream Park Breeders’ Cup Handicap), Bowman Mill (winner of the Grade 2 Sky Classic and second in the Grade 1 Hollywood Turf Cup), and Dynaforce (winner of the Grade 1 Flower Bowl Invitational and Grade 1 Beverly D.)
