Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert is the latest guest on the Across the Board with Andy Serling podcast, presented by the New York Racing Association, now available for download.
Joining Serling on Thursday, June 7 at Belmont Park following Triple Crown hopeful Justify's first visit to the main track after he completed a 1 3/8-mile gallop in preparation for Saturday's 150th running of the Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes, presented by NYRA Bets, Baffert shared his thoughts on the upcoming race and Justify's Triple Crown journey so far.
The pair also discussed Baffert's well accomplished career including training racing's first Triple Crown winner since 1978 with American Pharoah in 2015 along with other champions he's trained including Point Given, War Emblem, SIlverbulletday and Arrogate.
The Eclipse Award winner for Outstanding trainer in 1997, 1998, and 1999, Baffert has won just about every major stakes race in the country including five wins in the Kentucky Derby; six in the Preakness and two in the Belmont Stakes. He has also won the Breeders' Cup Classic three times with Bayern in 2014, American Pharoah in 2015 and Arrogate in 2016.
