Bevy of longshots prompt double Pick 6 Carryover of $139K into Saturday's Belmont card

ELMONT, N.Y. - Aided by a bevy of longshots, the Pick 6 went unsolved for a second straight day, resulting in a $139,824.66 carryover into Saturday's card at Belmont Park.
Friday's Pick 6 sequence commenced in Race 4 with New York-bred Mobridge, who connected as the 4-5 mutuel favorite under Irad Ortiz, Jr., returning $3.80 on a $2 win bet. Took Charge, the longest shot on the board at 6-1, won on debut in Race 5 paying $15.20.
The Last Zip held off favored Doswell to win Race 6 for trainer Michael Stidham paying $7.70. Shock Therapy, with Belmont Stakes winning rider Joel Rosario up for trainer Charlton Baker, upset Race 7 returning $21.80 for a $2 win ticket.
It was yet another longshot in Race 8 as Lemon Zip soured the expectations of 3-5 mutuel favorite Pollare. With Jose Ortiz up for Niall Saville, Lemon Zip notched her sixth career win, returning a fruitful $15.
Dynamite Kitten, sent to post as the 8-5 mutuel favorite, closed out Friday's card with a prominent win to secure the two-day Pick 6 carryover.
A consolation payout of $1,056 was awarded to bettors who had five of six winners in the Pick 6.
Live racing resumes Saturday at Belmont with a 10-race card highlighted by the $100,000 Dancin Renee. First post time is at 1:30 p.m. with the Pick 6 beginning in Race 5 with a post time of 3:40 p.m.
