Single NYRA Bets Late Pick 5 winner cashes in for $56,079
Horseplayers will be greeted with a $34,418 Pick 6 carryover when live racing returns to Belmont Park on Thursday to kick off the three-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival.
Sunday's sequence got underway with winning favorite Mo Diddley (No. 2, $5.30) in Race 4, followed by a 61-1 upset by Foolish Ghost (No. 2, $124) in Race 5. Epping Forest (No. 6, $6.20) prevailed in Race 6, followed by longshot Callant (No. 3, $74.50) in Race 7, the favored Timeline (No. 1, $4.40) in Race 8, and Linburgh's Kitten (No. 3, $13.20) to end the day in Race 9.
A consolation payoff of $2,868 was awarded to bettors with 5-of-6 winners.
Thursday's sequence will begin in Race 4, with a post time of 3:35 p.m. ET, and will encompass all three stakes on the day's card - the $150,000 Astoria (Race 6), the Grade 3, $200,000 Intercontinental (Race 7), and the Grade 3, $200,000 Wonder Again (Race 8).
First post for Thursday's nine-race card is 2:00 p.m.
Wagering on the Pick 6 is available through NYRA Bets, on-track, at Aqueduct Racetrack, as well as simulcast facilities across the country.
Also on Sunday, there was a single winner of the NYRA Bets Late Pick 5, cashing in for $56,079.50. The sole winning ticket was purchased by a NYRA Bets member at Aqueduct Racetrack.
On Thursday, the popular low takeout, 50-cent minimum wager begins in Race 5 (4:07 post time).
