Pick 6 Carryover of $59K on Friday at Belmont Park
by Mary Eddy
Friday’s card at Belmont Park will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $59,977 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Thursday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $9,996 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence kicked off in Race 4 with In My Wake [No. 6, $17] upsetting a maiden claimer over the inner turf with Trevor McCarthy up for trainer Christophe Clement. The Michelle Nevin-trained Dancing Buck [No. 2, $8.40] found the winner’s circle for the first time since November with a frontrunning score under Joel Rosario in Race 5.
Kendrick Carmouche piloted Saint Selby [No. 3, $7.20] to an optional claiming victory for trainer Rob Atras’ second win on the card in Race 6 before Joel Rosario earned his second win on the day as Perceived [No. 2, $41.40] took the Elmont Starter Handicap in Race 7 for trainer Rudy Rodriguez.
Spirit and Glory [No. 10, $51.50] missed the break of Race 8 but recovered well to run down his foes under Dylan Davis in an allowance optional claimer for trainer Robert Falcone, Jr.
With just two horses covered in the final leg, Me ‘n Sap [No. 6, $65] triggered the carryover when Luis Cardenas piloted the son of Bourbon Courage to a 31-1 claiming victory in Race 9 for trainer David Donk.
Friday’s Pick 6 will kick off in Race 4 [2:32 p.m. Eastern]. First post for the nine-race card, is 1 p.m.
