Stewards Corner

Welcome to the Stewards’ Corner, where you will find explanations of the decisions that our stewards make on race days. Directly following any decision they make having to do with the official order of finish, including inquiries and objections, the stewards – one appointed by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), one appointed by the New York State Gaming Commission, and one appointed by The Jockey Club (TJC) – provide an explanation of what happened and the reason for their decision. Race Decisions - October 12, 2012

RACE 7: Steward’s inquiry and jockey’s objection from the # 2 Boots Ahead (I. Ortiz Jr.) the 4th place finisher for alleged interference in the vicinity of 1/16 pole against the # 5 Saint Pierre (J.Castellano) the 3rd place finisher.

# 5 drifts out causing # 2 to steady. After reviewing the video and in the judgment of the stewards this incident did not alter the final placing. The race is official as is.
