Stewards Corner

Welcome to the Stewards’ Corner, where you will find explanations of the decisions that our stewards make on race days. Directly following any decision they make having to do with the official order of finish, including inquiries and objections, the stewards – one appointed by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), one appointed by the New York State Gaming Commission, and one appointed by The Jockey Club (TJC) – provide an explanation of what happened and the reason for their decision. Race Decisions - October 20, 2012

RACE 4: Steward’s Inquiry into the stretch run.

In the vicinity of the 1/8 pole, # 2 A Prettydixie (E. Prado) steadies on the rail as # 5 Isn’tshewonderfull (J. Rosario) passes him to take a position inside # 6 Ah Gaga (E. Castro).  # 2 is tiring in the final furlong and holds his position to finish fourth.  In the judgment of the stewards, the incident did not alter the finish of the race.

The race was declared official as is.
