by NYRA Press Office

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) would like to formally invite members of the media to apply for credentials to cover the 2018 summer meet at historic Saratoga Race Course.

The 40-day meet, which includes 69 stakes worth $18.8 million in purses, will run from Friday, July 20 through Labor Day, Monday, September 3. After opening weekend, racing will be conducted six days a week, Wednesdays through Mondays.

The 2018 credential application can be accessed at http://credentials.nyra.com.

Members of the media who already have been issued a yearly credential need not reapply.

Credential requests must be submitted no later than Friday, July 6. Applications received after that date will not be accepted.

Professional news organizations and media outlets are encouraged to submit one collective application for all attending employees. For freelance journalists and photographers, the application must be submitted by an assigning editor or editor-in-chief.

A headshot is required for each applicant, as well as a letter of assignment from the assigning editor or editor-in-chief. Proof of insurance, where applicable, will also be required.

Media credentials may be picked up in person at the Saratoga press office beginning Wednesday, July 18 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pickup will also be July 19 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on any subsequent live racing day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Media credentials will not be mailed and must be retrieved from the press office located in the administration building at Saratoga Race Course.

Credentials for an entire outlet may be picked up by a designated point person.
