Pick 6 carryover of $50k at Saratoga Race Course set for Saturday

The Pick 6 sequence went unsolved on Friday at Saratoga Race Course, triggering a carryover of $50,345 heading into Saturday's card at the Spa.

Friday's sequence commenced when Two Shakes (No. 7) returned $6 on a $2 win bet in Race 5. Zonic (No. 8) paid $7.50 in defeating allowance company in Race 6, while Lady Joan (No. 7) posted an upset win in Race 7, paying $18.20.

Theaterintheround (No. 9) won under Jose Ortiz in Race 8, paying $6.90. In the day's feature, jockey Frankie Pennington earned his first career win at Saratoga and trainer Ned Allard registered his first stakes win at the Spa since 1988 when Always Sunshine (No. 5, $7.20) won the $100,000 Tale of the Cat in Race 9. Veterans Beach (No. 3) concluded the day's card by winning Race 10 and paying $20.60.

A consolation payout of $498 was awarded to bettors who has five of six winners.

Saturday's Pick 6 sequence will begin with Race 6 with a scheduled post time of 3:49 p.m. ET and will include the Grade 1, $400,000 Fourstardave Handicap in Race 8 and the $100,000 Fasig-Tipton Lure in Race 10. The 11-race card has a first post time of 1 p.m.
