There will be a Pick 6 carryover of $40,534 into on Saturday's card at Saratoga Race Course, featuring the Grade 2, $300,000 Lake Placid and the Grade 1, $600,000 Alabama.
Only one post-time favorite proved victorious in Friday's sequence, as Pauseforthecause (No. 1X) prevailed in Race 6 by 6 ¼ lengths to return $3.80. Frosted Ice (No. 5, $13) kicked off the wager with a victory in Race 5. Sweet Bye and Bye (No. 2, $14) and Leaveematthegate (No. 4, $35.20) won Races 7 and 8, respectfully, while Chattel (No. 6, $47) sprung a 22-1 upset in the $100,000 Skidmore in Race 9. In keeping with the spirit of the day, The Chamo (No. 10) held heavy favorite American Rule at bay to win the nightcap, returning $10.40.
The consolation payoff for tickets with five of six winners returned an enviable $13,511.
Saturday's Pick 6 begins in Race 5 with a post time of 3:15 p.m. and will include both of the day's featured races, with the Lake Placid as Race 8 and the Alabama in Race 9. First post on Saturday is 1 p.m.
