The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced the opening of registration for the Fourstardave Handicapping Challenge on Saturday, August 13 at Saratoga Race Course.
Participants may register now through Friday, August 12 at 5 p.m. Eastern at https://www.nyra.com/saratoga/racing/handicapping-contests with the option to play either online via NYRA Bets or on-track at Saratoga, where players will enjoy seating and lunch as part of their entry fee.
The Fourstardave Handicapping Challenge will run in conjunction with the 38th running of the one-mile Grade 1, $500,000 Fourstardave Handicap over the inner turf, a “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile in November at Keeneland. The lucrative card will also feature the 117th running of the Grade 2, $200,000 Saratoga Special for juveniles sprinting 6 1/2-furlongs on the main track.
The live-money contest features a $3,000 Entry Fee [$2,000 in Live Money Wagers/$1,000 to Prize Pool], contributing to a prize pool that NYRA is seeding with an additional $5,000. Also on offer for the winner is one seat to an upcoming $3,000 NYRA Challenge event.
Players must wager $400 on at least five races during the August 13 card at Saratoga, and can place win, place, show, trifecta, quinella and daily double wagers.
Additionally, horseplayers can enjoy the Saratoga Low Roller Contest every Thursday and Sunday throughout the summer meet at the Spa. Players can pre-register outside the Miller Time Fourstardave Sports Bar on contest days.
There is a $40 buy-in, of which $30 will go to the players’ bankroll and $10 to the prize pool. Winners will also receive a t-shirt in addition to the cash prize.
NYRA Bets is the official wagering platform of The New York Racing Association, Inc. Available to horseplayers nationwide, the NYRA Bets app is available for download today on iOS and Android at www.NYRABets.com.
