Late Pick 5 carryover of $172K
Friday’s 10-race card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $25,215 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Thursday’s program. Friday will also feature a Late Pick 5 carryover of $172,117.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $646.50 to bettors who selected 4-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence started in Race 4 with main-track only entrant Spooky Road [No. 16, $14.80] taking an off-the-turf starter allowance under Jose Lezcano for trainer Linda Rice. The Derek Ryan-trained Optic Way [No. 5, $24.60] followed with a $12,500 claiming victory under Hall of Famer Javier Castellano in Race 5 to earn his eighth lifetime victory.
The Norman Follett trainee Alarm Clock [No. 15, $93.50] provided the biggest upset in the sequence when Heman Harkie guided the daughter of Not This Time to a wire-to-wire victory in Race 6, an allowance for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. One race later, New York-bred Idaka [No. 7, $71] held on to secure an open-company $16,000 claiming sprint in Race 7 with Luis Rodriguez Castro up for conditioner Eddie Barker.
Post-time favorite Sheriff Bianco [No. 7, $5.20*] took Race 8 to give both trainer Linda Rice and jockey Jose Lezcano their second win on the card. Playingwithmatches [No. 6, $37.60] closed out the sequence in Race 9 with a determined maiden-breaking score under Kendrick Carmouche for trainer Mark Hennig.
