Pick 6 carryover of $15K on Saturday at Belmont at the Big A
Saturday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $15,405 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $407.54 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Friday's Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 3 with a win from Nabokov [No. 3, $8.24*] in a 6 1/2-furlong claimer with Manny Franco aboard for trainer Ilkay Kantarmaci.
In Race 4, a six-furlong maiden special weight on the outer turf, the Miguel Clement-conditioned Only for Now [No. 5, $4.66*] rallied from last to give Franco his second win of the day. The next race saw conditioner Bill Morey send out the New York-bred Lady Wisdom [No. 9, $6.52*] in a one turn-mile claimer that earned Franco a riding triple, in Race 5.
In Race 6, a six-furlong claimer, Edgard Zayas visited the winner’s circle aboard Edistrudis [No. 9, $8.54] for Kantarmaci. In Race 7, a six-furlong outer turf allowance for state-breds, the Keri Brion-trained One Last Knock [No. 1, $5.52*] proved best with Kendrick Carmouche in the saddle.
With 5-of-8 horses covered in the Race 8 finale, a 1 1/16-mile state-bred maiden special weight on the inner turf, Dylan Davis navigated Encantar [No. 10, $31.98] to victory for conditioner David Donk, clinching the carryover.
Saturday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 6 at approximately 3:38 p.m. Eastern. First post for the 11-race card, which features the Grade 3, $175,000 John A. Nerud [Race 6], Grade 2, $200,000 Ruffian [Race 7], the $150,000 Take The A Train [Race 8] and Grade 3, $200,000 Peter Pan [Race 9], is 1:10 p.m.
