Pick 6 carryover of $154K on Wednesday at Saratoga Race Course
Wednesday’s card at Saratoga Race Course will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $154,119 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday’s 10-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $17,124.34 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Sunday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 5, a six-furlong claimer, with a win from the favorite, Seeker’s Hope [No. 4, $3.44*], under Manny Franco for trainer Linda Rice, marking the second win of the day for both Franco and Rice.
Let Em Know [No. 9, $34.26] then eked out a nose victory at odds of 16-1 under Edgard Zayas in Race 6, a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight on the Mellon turf, for trainer Whit Beckman. In Race 7, jockey Flavien Prat and five-time Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown visited the winner’s circle with Rebalancing [No. 3, $9.96], who prevailed in a seven-furlong maiden claimer.
In Race 8, a one-mile state-bred optional claimer on the inner turf, Hall of Fame rider John Velazquez navigated the 23-1 longshot Funny Factor [No. 7, $48.40] to victory for trainer Will Walden. In Race 9, the Grade 3, $225,000 Mahony, Jose Ortiz secured his second win on the card aboard Stradale [No. 7, $16.20], who prevailed for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen.
With the carryover already guaranteed heading into the Race 10 finale, a 6 1/2-furlong claimer, the Mitch Friedman-trained New York-bred Stewie [No. 8, $12.14] proved best with Franco in the saddle for his third win on the card.
Wednesday’s Pick 6 sequence begins in Race 3 at approximately 2:20 p.m. Eastern, and features the $150,000 NYSSS Statue of Liberty in Race 7. First post for the eight-race card is 1:10 p.m.
