Remnants of Tropical Storm Debby force cancelation of Friday, August 9 card at Saratoga

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced that the 10-race card scheduled for Friday, August 9 at Saratoga Race Course has been canceled due to heavy rainfall and high winds associated with Tropical Storm Debby forecast to impact Saratoga and the greater Capital Region overnight and throughout the day on Friday.
Friday’s featured $125,000 Evan Shipman and $125,000 Union Avenue will be rescheduled.
Saratoga Race Course will be closed to the public on Friday and breakfast and track tours will not be offered. Fans in possession of August 9 tickets are entitled to either a full refund or credit for a future purchase, and will be contacted directly by the NYRA sales office. Tickets purchased via third-party sites are not eligible for a refund from NYRA and customers must directly contact the third-party vendor for assistance.
Live racing is slated to resume Saturday at Saratoga with first post at 12:35 p.m. Eastern.
The Grade 1, $500,000 FanDuel Fourstardave and Grade 1, $600,000 Saratoga Derby Invitational, which were scheduled for Saturday, August 10, will now be held as the final two races on Sunday, August 11.
